Tony Auth

Tony Auth’s work is known for its playful, unprompted style that pays attention to the physical experiences of the surrounding world.  He uses a variety of wage working fabrication techniques and informal sculptural processes to make his art speak intimately with the viewer.  What gas station operators and construction workers do for money fascinates him most, and he uses their processes in his art.  “I’m drawn to the tools that people avoid using.  I’ve always wanted to use a trench digger in an art project.”
